pregnant olympia statue in skopje

Giant figure of a pregnant woman in bronze on the square "Karpos Uprising" which is the space between the Stone Bridge and the Old Skopje Bazaar. This is the fourth fountain piece of the monument wich is central place in the square next to the church "Sv Demetrius". This figure symbolizes motherhood, a pregnant woman with hand placed on the abdomen. One of the four characters is conveyed motherly character of Olympias, the mother of Alexander the Great.
